Frequently Asked Questions
Our Online Shop Returns Policy
We want you to be delighted with any purchases you make with us! If for any reason you’re disappointed with any item you’ve ordered, please just return it within 14 days of the date of receipt and we will refund your money or send you a replacement. Please see 'Workshops' below for specific conditions regarding these bookings.
Returned goods must be in 'as new' condition. If an item arrives broken, please either call us on 01558 824573 or email us at [email protected]
Please note that the costs for returning the item to us are non refundable. If you are returning an item because of an error on our part or because it is damaged or defective, we will be happy to refund the delivery charges incurred in sending the item to you and we’ll reimburse your costs in returning it to us. When you return goods, please retain proof of posting from your shipper. Without this we cannot be responsible for any items that fail to reach us. We always try to process returns as soon as they arrive.
Please note that refunds for items bought as gifts can only be given to the original payer.
Can I exchange an item purchased from your shop?
We’re happy to accept items for exchange providing they fall under our 14 day return policy. Please specify the item you require in exchange for the returned item.
Workshops:
Can I cancel my workshop booking?
Full payment is required when booking a workshop. If you're unable to attend your booking and it’s more than 7 days in advance, we can offer a refund minus 10% for administrative fees as we're likely to need to advertise your place. Alternatively you can have an equal credit towards our 'Paint a Piece' tuition course at an agreed date (Full Details of this course can be found HERE).
If a cancellation is within 7 days of your workshop then we are unable to offer a refund sorry, although you can always send a friend in your place - just let us know the name change please. The other alternative for cancellations within 7 days is an equal credit towards the 'Paint a Piece' tuition we offers, so you'll still be able to receive training from your booking.
A full refund will be given if your workshop is cancelled by The Little Welsh Dresser for any reason, or you can elect to attend an alternative workshop/'Paint a Piece' tuition instead.
How do I book a workshop?
Please phone us on 01558 824573 or pop in the shop to book - this ensures that we're able to discuss the course and cancellation policy to you, it also means that as spaces are limited we won't double sell a space.
Delivery
We currently only post items to addresses in the UK.
Postage and Packing is £3.95, or £5.95 if your order contains heavier Annie Sloan products. This increased postage is to cover the weight of these products.
Please allow up to five working days for orders to be processed and delivered. At peak delivery times such as Christmas or Easter normal deliveries may incur delays and we would advise that orders placed for any special occasions are made in good time. Deliveries are made normally Monday to Friday, excluding Public Holidays. If there is no one in to receive the parcel then the carrier will follow any delivery instructions given by the sender i.e. “Leave with neighbour”. Where gifts cannot be delivered they will be returned to the local delivery depot - either a Royal Mail depot or a depot operated by our couriers. In both instances a card will be left at the recipient address notifying the occupier that a delivery was attempted. Collection details and/or options for a redelivery at a convenient other time will be provided on the card. Gifts that cannot be delivered (incorrect addresses, ‘gone-aways’, no response from recipient following delivery attempt etc) will be returned to our offices after two weeks. At this point we will notify the sender that the gift has not been delivered. If you think your recipient may not be at home to receive their gift it may be a good idea to send your gift to the recipient’s place of work.
Walking Distance From Shop - FREE
As the Government are encouraging online retail to stay open (Click here for link), and as I believe in both the therapeutic and practical benefits of painting furniture, I have decided that it's right to re-open our online sales. As part of this we have been reviewing the best options for delivery and have therefore removed the 'Click and Collect' option from our website.
In its place, we are trialling FREE 'Walking Distance From Shop' delivery. We believe this makes sense as many of our customers live very near the shop (some closer than the nearest Post Office) and many I pass on my walk from the shop to home.
In order to support the importance of staying at home, these deliveries will be made during my one form of exercise per day. I will also follow similar practices to most delivery companies, whereby if an item won't fit through your letterbox, I will place your order at your door, then having knocked, I will step aside to a safe distance while you retrieve your item, or wave through the window! This will ensure your orders are delivered securely rather than being left outside.
I will continue to monitor this trial and should it not feel right, or of course if the Government no longer encourages online retail, then I will stop.
If you live within this map, then this is what I would class as walking distance from the shop:
Click and Collect
We've just super charged our 'Click and Collect' service so that you can keep on shopping whilst minimising contact with others! Here's how it works....
1. You order and pay via our website, www.thelittlewelshdresser.com and select 'Click and Collect' during checkout, this option has no delivery charge. Alternatively order on the phone, 01558 824573 and you can pay for your items there and then whilst on the phone.
2. We'll email, or phone you to let you know when your order is ready. We're fully stocked with Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint, Wall Paint, Brushes, Waxesm etc if that's what you're after!
3. You then can either:
i. Collect from our shop, as there's no paying or looking for items, it'll be a quick in and out.
ii. Park in the main carpark in Llandeilo and give us a ring letting us know your car and where you're parked. We'll then bring your order to to you, and can even put it straight in your boot if that's best for you.
iii. If you live within walking distance of the shop, we'll deliver your order to you. We're happy to leave it on your doorstep if that's what you want!
iiii. You can ask for a friend or family member to pick up the order without worrying about how you'll pay them back
We're also open to other suggestions, so let us know if you have a request!
The Melin Tregwynt Cataloge can be downloaded here, please get in touch if you'd like us to order something for you. Our prices are the same as their catalgoue and it'll save you the postage if you're able to pick up from our shop - plus you're supporting our little shop!
