'Puffins' Lino Art Print
‘Puffins’ is inspired by the artist visiting the island of Skomer in Pembrokeshire and seeing thousands of puffins. They are such attractive and comical birds.
To create a print, Suzanne works first on the design using photographs and sketches. Then she transfers her design directly onto a block of lino, and hand carve the image using lino tools. Next, using a roller, she applies ink to the lino. Finally, she carefully lays paper over the lino and prints by hand, using the back of a spoon or a small baren. This is repeated at least 25 times to produce an open or limited edition of the image and then each print is hand-signed.
Each of the prints in the edition is an original work of art, not a reproduction. The nature of the hand-made process means that there will be minor variations between prints.
