The books are 5 inches by 5 inches and contain 20 sheets and come in Brass, Aluminium and Copper. Loose leaf is cheaper than transfer and is used for most gilding purposes, particularly carved surfaces
Use the leaf with hands lightly dusted with talcum powder and stick the leaf on to a surface coated with Gold Size.
Loose Leaf Brass: Also known as Imitation Gold or sometimes as Dutch Gold. Brass tarnishes so apply clear wax
Loose Leaf Copper
Loose Leaf Aluminium: Also known as Imitation Silver. Aluminium does not tarnish so there is
no need to apply clear wax but to make it look like silver a light coat of dark wax gives it a look of vintage silver
